Healing River

Healing River is a ministry dedicated to bringing the love, comfort, and healing power of Jesus Christ to those who are sick, hospitalized, or facing medical challenges. We provide spiritual encouragement, prayer, and the hope of God’s Word to patients and their families during times of physical and emotional struggle.

Through our partnership with WMCHealth Bon Secours Hospital, our team serves as trained volunteers in the Perioperative unit as part of the Greeter/Wayfinder Team.

Our team:

• Offers a warm welcome and clear guidance to patients and families during the surgical experience.
• Provides a calm and reassuring presence, easing anxiety and reflecting the love of Jesus.
• Prays with and supports patients, family members, and caregivers.
• Upholds the highest standards of professionalism, safety, confidentiality, and patient-centered care.

In addition to our hospital ministry at WMCHealth, the Healing River team visits other hospitals where sick church members and their families are admitted, offering prayer, encouragement, and spiritual support during their time of need.

Our team has completed comprehensive training in IT security and confidentiality, corporate compliance, infection prevention and control, safety and emergency management, patient experience standards, and creating an inclusive and welcoming environment. This ensures that every patient and family member is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

Guided by our faith in Jesus and a commitment to excellence, Healing River seeks to enhance the perioperative and hospital experience while sharing God’s love, comfort, and healing power. Patients and families are reminded that they are not forgotten, that God sees them, and that His peace and blessings are available even in difficult circumstances.
