The Open Door God Has for the Faithful(This is not a verbatim transcript, but a summary drawn from Dr. Kiruba Stephen’s livestreamed message delivered during the church service on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at EL Bethel International Ministries Church. To listen to the full message, please visit www.elbim.org.) Revelation 3:7-8 (NKJV) 1. God Opens the Doors to Blessings and Closes Doors to Oppression“These things says He who is holy, He who is true, He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens.” (Rev 3:7) In this verse, God Almighty, the Maker of heaven and Earth, introduces Himself as the One who has the power to alter anything on this planet. When God introduces Himself in this way, it signals that He is about to act in a significant manner. He says, “When I close, no one can open; when I open, no one can close.” On the first day of this new month, God promises to open doors of blessing and close doors of oppression. He has the authority to provide healing, provision, and every need. Likewise, He can shut the doors through which enemies attempt to bring harassment or oppression. He shuts the doors to oppressors and all forms of oppression. No matter how the door may look, whether made of brass, iron, or seemingly impossible to open, God says He has the power and will open it. He has set the door open so that you can pass through, and no one has the power to shut it. God affirms that He has both the power and the will to do this for you. March is the month of open doors that no one can shut. With His mighty arm, God keeps the door open. He stands by us and declares it open, and no demon or human can close it. The blessings that are meant for you will come to you. In March, God promises to open the door and keep it open so you can walk through it. 2. Our Part: Hold Fast to the Word of God“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.” (Rev 3:8) God sees what you are doing and has set an open door before you. Even with little strength, we are called to keep His Word. Whatever the enemy may throw at us to cause us to deny His name, we are to remain faithful to His Word. This faithfulness should be demonstrated in our daily lives, in our actions, words, thoughts, behaviors, and speech, trusting God as our Savior for healing, holiness, and every need. We must not be like those without a Father who panic when challenges arise, hoping that someone will open the door for them. When that does not happen, they fall into self-pity, feeling that nobody cares, and focus on their own despair When we know that we have a Father in heaven who sees us, controls the doors, and is always there for us, we do not have to worry about anything. His Word imparts life, revives us, and brings what is not yet present. To those who keep the Word of God, even with the little strength they have, do not deny it by their actions, and hold on to His name, God says,“I will do something good for you.” If you have received a promise from God, it is very important to focus on it, cherish it, and nurture it so that it can grow. When God gives you a Word, thank Him every morning for giving it to you, for its fulfillment, and for the faith to believe it. Knowing that He has spoken and His Word will not change brings joy. It is like receiving a promise from someone you know so well that you are certain it will happen, and you expect it with confidence. When faith in God is present, even when circumstances appear contrary, and you hold fast to His Word, God says, “I have an open door for you. Because you held on to my Word, I have this open door for you to walk through.” Jesus said that if you love Him, you will keep His commandments, and the reverse is also true:
Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (John 14:15) If you love Him, you will spontaneously love others as well. This is the fruit that comes from the tree; a good tree will bear good fruit, just as a clean spring will produce clean water. When we have the seed of Christ in us, we can expect that the tree will grow, and the fruit of the Spirit will appear. We must understand that our God sees our works every day and will fulfill His Word (Rev 3:8). 3. Caution Against Satan’s Attacks to Rob the BlessingsWhen God gives a promise, there is a maturity date stamped on it, the day it will be fulfilled. Satan sees this as well and tries to steal it. He attacks in three main ways: spiritual slumber, sin, and distraction. God says in Revelation 3:8b, “for you have a little strength, have kept My word…” This means that when God gives you His Word, the enemy, who recognizes its value, will attempt to discourage you and make you doubt it in order to weaken your hold. But if you hold tightly to God’s promise, it will surely come to pass. a. Spiritual Slumber b. Willful Sin Furthermore, every root of bitterness, anger, or other spiritual hindrances must be completely removed. Whatever you do, make sure you are not putting Jesus to shame. Whether through texting, talking to people, or in your thoughts, do not defile His name or deny Him. Do not act like unbelievers by worrying or speaking words of unbelief. Do not give room to despair and despondency, because these are demonic spirits that can take you away from God’s blessings. If you violate God’s commandments directly, the doors of blessing will not remain open. Remember, if you submit to God and resist the devil, he will flee. c. Distraction ClosingIn the spirit realm, the door has already been opened. In the physical realm, it will manifest. How will you make it open in your life? We must abide by spiritual principles, remain vigilant, and not allow the thief to enter our lives. The more God’s Word enters our hearts, the more it sanctifies our mind, soul, and body, making us hostile to sin. The more we meditate on His Word, the more fertile we become for God’s purposes. Faith will thrive, unbelief will disappear, and we will walk through God’s open door to receive His blessings. If He has opened it, the door will never close as long as we hold on to His Word and do not deny His name. SummaryGod declares that He alone has the authority to open doors no one can shut and to close doors no one can open. When He makes such a declaration, it signals divine action on behalf of His people. He opens doors to blessings and shuts doors to oppression. He promises open doors of blessing, provision, protection, and victory over the enemy. Believers must hold fast to His Word, even with little strength, and not deny His name in their daily lives. They must guard God’s promises against Satan’s tactics, which include spiritual slumber, sin, and distraction, attempts that aim to weaken faith and break fellowship with God. By loving Him, obeying His Word, resisting sin, and staying spiritually alert, believers position themselves to walk through the open doors He has set before them, trusting that what God has spoken will surely come to pass.
