Call upon the Lord- Part 2
By Pastor Kiruba Stephen

Praise the Lord and welcome back to the God of Wonders radio program. In Part 2 of the message entitled Call upon the Lord, which was delivered by Kiruba Stephen at the Walter Hoving Home in Garrison New York, you will learn how the Heavenly Father is very tender and compassionate, and the Lord wants to bless you if only you would call upon His name today.

Let’s continue to read couple of more verses from Psalm 18. Let me read verse 18.
18. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. Now, this talks about the enemies.
19. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because He delighted in me.
Now, this talks about how much God loves. God takes delight in us; that is the reason why we are here. If He never delighted in us, then we wouldn’t be here. If you ever feel like, “Oh, nobody likes me. I feel lonely.” Remember Jesus delights in you. Jesus loves you. Jesus cares for you. Jesus can protect you. Jesus can provide for you. If you ever feel like, “Lord, I don’t have the money tomorrow, how am I going to pay my rent? How am I going to get my clothes? Whatever it is; remember God will provide for you. God delights in you. You know what, let’s read verse 21.
21. For I have kept the ways of the Lord; I am not guilty of turning from my God.
Now, that is the secret. If  you want the Lord to really delight in you, follow Him faithfully. Follow Him faithfully, follow Him faithfully and God will provide. He is faithful to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. God is speaking as a prophesy to somebody here. You are worried, “Lord, how am I going to go past this? Lord, how am I going to go past this? Who is going to carry me through past this? Lord, I know You can carry me through; Lord, I am not confident.” You know what the Lord says. He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that you ask or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20). So, no matter what you have in the back of your mind. You may not have it like right here, but all the time it’s there. All the time it keeps coming saying, “Lord, what is going to happen 6 months from now? What is going to happen 8 months from now? What is going to happen? How am I going to go back? Those are all your thoughts. But the Holy Spirit says, “Cast all your cares upon Him, He cares for you.”
And let’s read from 25-29. We are going to close with this in a little while.
25. To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless,
26. To the pure you show yourself pure, but to the devious you show yourself shrewd.
27. You save the humble but bring low those whose eyes are haughty.
28. You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.
29. With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.
So, with God basically, we can do anything. With Jesus, you can do anything in the world. God says in verse 27, when we are humble, God gives us His favor. That is the Word of God, it says in 1Peter 5 to the humble, God gives grace. He resists the proud but He gives grace to the humble. You want God to give you more grace, the more humble you are, God will keep lifting you up. The more humble you are; God will keep lifting you up. The ones that keep going up are the ones who are humble.
The moment we say, “Ok, I know everything. I can do anything. I have arrived.” That is the time the Lord will take his hand off. He will say, “Ok, daughter, learn your lesson and come back. I will help you.” Any good parent would do that. So, God in His mercy because of His love, He actually lets us fall to our face on the ground. So we just say, “Ouch! I got hurt. I cannot walk.  Like a baby, I need your hand Lord, Hold my hand. I don’t want to be independent.” And God is so faithful. God is so faithful. I can say over and over and over again. God is so faithful. We serve such a faithful God, a faithful God, a faithful God, an ever-present help in time of trouble. So, anytime we have trouble, we can always call. We can call the Lord in our labor room. We can call the Lord in the delivery room. Call the Lord in your examination room. Call the Lord anywhere, anywhere, in the hospital, anywhere. You can call on Him and He will say, “I am right here.” God is right here and
29. With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.
That means with God, He is basically saying, I can do anything. I can do anything. God will do everything for you. God’s Word says, with God…we know all this verse, right, “With God, all things are possible. With God all things are possible (Mathew 19:26b) Just highlight the word ALL. There is nothing that is impossible with Jesus Christ. With God, all things are possible.
And God has a very specific purpose, a very specific purpose for you, for you, for each one of you. And, even though I have 5 children, I never treat them as school children, right? I do not go home and say, “Hi children; Hi kids, how are you? You want dinner, come to my cafeteria, line up and take.” No! Each child is so special. I call Daniel, I call Esther, I call Elizabeth, I call Samuel, I call Joseph, (Joseph is my baby.) But I remember all of those names. And I am a human. Ok. And, it’s only 5.         But God is eternal. He created you and me. When He created, He never said, “Ok, there is going to be 2 Kirubas. I may have somebody who has my name; you know that, even though my name is not that common. I still may have somebody who has my name. Same thing, we may have like 100 Jessicas, we may have a 1000 Marys, and we can have 10,000 Josephs. But you know that there are no 2 Josephs in the world. Before God, and even scientifically, you have no 2 DNAs. God made you so unique. God loves you so much when He designed you, He said, “I made you so fearfully and wonderfully.”(Psalm 139:14).
And when we really look at the creation of God, it’s amazing, it’s so beautiful. I look at it, lot of times I think, Lord, how did You even, even I was like thinking last week. Even when God made Adam, that clay, you know the details that are in human body? How do you make those? We are humans, we cannot understand. Then I think, “God is so awesome, He is so powerful.” Even the little microchip, you know that, the little microchip that is in certain devices that has all the data in it, how did they make that? Oh, we have faith in that, right? We all have faith in that. We can know that just this iphone has basically everything you need. And just that little plastic card, you can take it anywhere and buy anything, that little black strip. How does that happen? How is it actually able to draw money from your bank account, how is it able to do that. It is happening and humans are doing it. Imagine how much bigger God is! He just designed this every single neuron, every single cell, every single blood vessel, He really took so much care to create you and me. And God is such an amazing God.
So He just didn’t randomly say, “Ok, let humans populate the earth and everybody just popped out everywhere. No. God has a plan and in the book of Psalms it says, God actually takes notice when everybody is born. It’s recorded in the Bible that God takes notice when everybody is born. And there is a time to be born and God has His real time for as to when each person has to finish their race and enter into glory. So our focus on this earth has to be, “Lord, You are so great. You are so glorious. You are so good. But my focus is not here. I am sent here with a mission.”
Lot of times we may not even realize, we may live for today or for tomorrow but all our tomorrows will one day come to an end. Right? I am not eternal, You are not eternal. We all have a beginning point and we all have an ending point. But if we know that I am a stranger in this world, you are a stranger in this world, how will you live? How will you live when you know that you are going to go somewhere someday that is your home, and whatever you do now is going to count for eternity, how will you live? We have to just give ourselves a few minutes to think, how am I going to live? Lot of people they work so hard you know for their retirement home. 10 years, 20 years; after that what is going to happen? Somebody else is going to take that home.
But, our everlasting home; not too many people even think about. But that’s where we are going to be there forever and ever and ever. And God really put that deep inside my heart. Live for eternity. You live for eternity. Every minute that you spend, if you are wise, it’s like going into a piggy bank. This minute, the Lord takes note of, Oh! My daughter did this for me. It’s going into your savings bank. And you won’t even know; because you love Jesus, you keep serving Him. But, it keeps going into that piggy bank. One day when you reach glory, God will say, “Look what you have!” The reward will be great in heaven. Don’t you want an abundant entry into heaven? I want it. When I go, I want Jesus to welcome me into heaven. We just don’t want to just go like, “Oh, I just made it.” We really want to have that abundant entry into heaven. “My warrior is here”; that’s what we want to hear from the Lord. “My warrior is here, This child fought for Me by truth, saved millions for Me from the gates of hell. My warrior is here; look at the people that she has brought for the Lord.”
Isn’t that amazing thing? God of heaven and earth, even though He can bring everybody to Him Himself, He is giving us that privilege to fight for His kingdom. He is giving us this privilege to live for His kingdom. Isn’t that such a big privilege that He has given! The privilege that only God can give to us that He even accepts praises from our lips, that He even accepts the work of our hands. We have to think about that. We are not doing God any service. Actually, it’s a privilege to serve. Even when you worship Him, it’s a privilege to worship the Lord. It’s a privilege to serve the Lord, serve the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
I want to just tell you one short testimony what the Lord did for me in my life. When you are faithful to the Lord, God even counts the hair of your head. You believe that? If you feel like, “Lord my hair is falling” and if you feel sad, “Lord, look at how much hair is coming on my hairbrush. Look at that.” Then you think, “Ok, let me just throw that way.” And you keep combing again, “Look, how much.” Then you go and tell somebody, the next person, your friend or somebody whom you know says, “Don’t worry about it, it will grow back.” But you see your hair keeps falling. You know what; you can tell God even that. Because, not a single hair from your head falls, without the knowledge of the Father. That means, to that extent, He cares for you. What somebody can say, Ok, this is nothing, don’t even bother with it because it doesn’t matter to them that much. It’s not their hair that is falling, it’s your hair. You know, but God really takes it to heart. He says, “My child, if your hair is falling, let me know. I know it, but let me know. Let me know so that I can actually make it grow again.” Do you believe that? God can do that. You can go to the Lord and tell the Lord, “Lord I need more hair.” You can tell him that? Yes. Yes, you can tell Him that. God is a faithful God. What concerns you concerns your Heavenly Father. What concerns you? When my child comes and says me something, I never say, this is trivial; don’t talk to me about it. Every little thing does matter to God. And God is such a faithful God.

Yes, He is a faithful God. And He will never let anyone down who calls upon His Name in truth. Trust that you’ve been blessed with this message. Please join us next time for Part 3 of Call upon the Lord delivered first at the Walter Hoving Home in Garrison, New York by Kiruba Stephen.
